UPCWGS Statement for the 2017 Lantern Parade

Every child has the right to education. By putting our children in school, we can work towards ending the cycle of poverty. It is also through education that we can pave the way to a more gender-fair society. The University of the Philippines Center for Women’s and Gender Studies calls for the right to education for all Filipino children. It also insists on making the University a safe space that is free from gender-based harassment and violence – a place where everyone can freely develop into being the best versions of themselves.
